Dozens of local entrepreneurs are taking their big idea and putting it to the test. Entrepreneurs completed their first night of classes through the Gauntlet Business Program and Competition, the largest of it’s kind in Virginia. More than 100 people representing around 90 local businesses showed up for the first night of the Gauntlet on Tuesday, ready to launch or expand their business. . .

Four entrepreneurs who recently completed the Advancement Foundation’s Gauntlet Business Program and Competition have each earned 3 college credits through Dabney S. Lancaster Community College
WSLS 10 - $65,000 award given to help build business in Bedford
The grant will multiply business development training and resources.
Town of Bedford was selected to receive $65,000 through the governor’s community business launch grant. The grant was awarded through a highly competitive process across the state of Virginia. The Advancement Foundation said the grant will multiply business development training and resources to enable new or existing businesses to accelerate growth and success through The Gauntlet Business Program and Competition.
WSLS 10 - Entrepreneurs get $90,000 to help build business in Uptown Martinsville
If you have a great business idea, now is your chance to get funding and become your own boss. Applications are open for the 8th annual Gauntlet Business Program and Competition. - Special CBL grant gives an extra incentive for businesses interested in opening in Uptown Martinsville.
